The SBAC ELA and Math assessments, administered in grades 3-9, measure students’ academic knowledge and skills relative to the national Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts (ELA)/Literacy and Math. The SBAC Science assessments, administered in grades 5, 8, and 11, measure students’ academic knowledge and skills relative to the national Next Generation Science Standards. Adopted by the state of Vermont, FitnessGram,® an assessment used in grades 4, 7, and 10, allows teachers, administrators, parents, and most importantly, students, to understand and make positive changes to their health, and in turn build healthy habits.
In addition to these state assessments, the GRCSU also uses several common assessments such as STAR and MAP to assess ELA and Math skills in elementary, middle, and high school.
